I have a question about Virtual Villagers: A New Home!!!?

Ok so I have 4431 points, and I used to have like 2800 berries, but now I have 0. The villagers won't pick the berries even though I have 1600 left on the berry bush. How can I make them do that? (I have 12 villagers- 4 are kids and 2 are elderly)
