Did your morality miss the forest for the trees?

Most people hear and see on the news that there are thousands of children dying daily, but they are unable to ociate what they see on TV with their daily lives. This has nothing to do with their morality. It has to do with the ability to "See the bigger picture". Most people can't, and it is one of the things that distinguishes those of us who become influential from those of us who don't. Additionally, most people will say, "I don't care if others are starving, my kids come first". Again, not a lack of morality, rather a Darwinian response (Survival of the fittest) and a natural survival technique.
